I am a two year breast cancer survivor, so when the doctor said he was concerned about me having colon cancer, I panicked. My grandmother had died from colon cancer and my mother has a “undetermined mass”,being to new to the area and having no health insurance, I began my search to find some help in paying for a colonoscopy. I was either to young, or didn’t have a young child in the home, lived in the wrong county, etc,etc etc……
FINALLY!!!!!!!! literally, by some act of god, I found the Figgtree Foundation. In just a few minutes I had downloaded the forms off the internet, provided the information required and tammy started the negotiation process with my gastroenterologist. after making 100’s of phone calls and seven months, I had found some help. The procedure was performed about a month later and everything came out fine. It’s very comforting to know that there are some people out there who genuinely just want to help with no strings attached.
I highly recommend the Figgtree Foundation and will be forever indebted to them for there help.

I am writing this in regards to my request of help in getting help in obtaining a colonoscopy.
I would like to say “Thank you” for your help in my request, this was requested after my Mother passed away from this deadly killer.
She had no warnings that she had this cancer until it was too late for it had gotten to her liver.
Figg tree was there for me to help me through this preventive procedure.
I was at a loss with no insurance to pay for this and Figg tree came fourth in my time of need.
I spoke with Tammy a couple of times on the phone and then E-mail to see where I stood in getting this completed.
Figg tree I again THANK YOU for your helping me out.

2010 Grant Recipient Tara Green-
I am a 34 year old woman with a very strong family history of colon cancer on both sides of my family. After trying to no avail to get a colonoscopy and being turned down due to no insurance and my young age, I submitted an application for help from Figg Tree. With the help of Tammy at Figg Tree, I was able to get a colonoscopy at no charge to me. The results were clear, which gave me peace of mind that I would not have to have another colonoscopy for 5 more years. I want to thank Tammy and Figg Tree for all the help and for paying for me to have this procedure! Sincerely, Tara Green, Dayton Texas.
